When Stress and Boredom Become Problematic

Dealing with discomfort, stress and boredom due to COVID-19 can bring about uncomfortable feelings such as anxiety, depression and fear. When faced with this discomfort, it is not uncommon for people to reach for a substance as a quick fix to escape from those feelings. While it may seem easy to use alcohol or drugs to cope during this time, it is critical to not lose sight of how problematic this behavior can be just because of what we are going through right now.
