ABOUT ENTERHEALTH
Exceptional care, delivered in an exceptional way.
Enterhealth was founded to find a better way to treat addiction. After losing a family friend to addiction, founders David Kniffen Sr. and David Kniffen Jr. saw firsthand the failures of a system built on outdated, one-size-fits-all programs. They realized that real recovery required a new model—one rooted in science, compassion, and precision.
To build that vision, they partnered with nationally recognized addiction psychiatrist Dr. Harold Urschel to create Enterhealth, an organization designed to challenge the limitations of traditional rehab and treat addiction for what it truly is: a chronic but treatable brain disease.
At Enterhealth, care begins with comprehensive neurological and psychological assessments that uncover the underlying issues—depression, anxiety, trauma, or other co-occurring conditions—that fuel addiction and mental health disorders. Our evidence-based approach combines advanced therapies, precision medication management, and intensive one-on-one treatment to help patients heal their brains, their bodies, and their lives.
Elite, board-certified addiction specialists directing your care.
Our entire program is directed by board-certified addiction specialists, psychiatrists, and therapists who are relentless in their pursuit of better outcomes. Because recovery should never be dictated by insurance policies or arbitrary timelines, we operate independently—free to tailor every plan around what each individual truly needs to get well.

As co-founder and chief medical strategist for one of the finest residential and outpatient treatment programs in the nation, Dr. Urschel works with Enterhealth’s team of medical experts in the field of addiction, including its physicians, nurses, psychiatrists and licensed therapists, to implement the most advanced, science-based treatment protocols grounded in the latest NIH research, incorporating pharmacotherapy into client-centered treatment plans that address the psychological, spiritual and relational aspects of addiction.
Recognized by industry publications, peers, national talk show hosts and even competitors for his comprehensive approach to treating addiction and his determination to educate families and industry cohorts, Dr. Urschel has spent more than 20 years in addiction psychiatry, neurology and brain research, and has served as principal investigator on more than 25 clinical research studies exploring innovative addiction and psychiatric treatments. He has held leadership roles with some of the top hospitals in Dallas/Fort Worth, including Baylor Health Care System, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and St. Paul University Hospitals/UT Southwestern Medical Center.
Dr. Urschel graduated from Princeton University for his undergraduate training, and from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and the University of Pennsylvania for his graduate medical training. Dr. Urschel is currently certified in both addiction and general psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He also earned a Master’s in Management Administration from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Dr. Latif completed his residency training at Wayne State University in Michigan and a postgraduate fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at Texas A&M and has been in practice for more than 20 years.
With extensive experience in psychiatry and addiction medicine, Dr. Latif specializes in treating anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, and other mental health conditions.

Achieving her undergraduate degree at Xavier University of Louisiana followed by her medical degree from the University of Southern California, Dr. Taylor is a board-certified emergency medicine physician. In her efforts to continue her education via Functional Medicine University and American Academy of Functional Health, she has developed an interest in the Functional Medicine model and incorporated components of that model into her own Integrative Practices. Dr. Taylor also serves as the Chief AI officer of InDoc – Telehealth Company.

Having started his career in sales, Mr. Kniffen understands how to grow companies organically. His leadership experience ranges from development to operations and financial management, for companies ranging in size from start-ups to multi-million dollar corporations.
After graduating from the University of North Texas and serving in the United States Marine Corps, Mr. Kniffen began his civilian career in the early years of Electronic Data Systems (EDS) serving as a corporate recruiter. From there, he joined the University Computing Company, working his way up to vice president of Field Operations, then joined Kaneb, where he served as group vice president responsible for three of its subsidiaries and a software development team.

Point Communications is now known as The Point Group, one of the leading marketing communications firms in the southwest, and one of the very few that remains independently owned.
Fundamentally believing that the right people can achieve anything when they are committed to doing the right things, David Kniffen Sr.’s specialty is recognizing good people and good ideas; this is what drew him to the Enterhealth concept.
