Enterhealth has been named a finalist for Outstanding Healthcare Organization in D CEO’s 2026 Excellence in Healthcare Awards, recognizing its work in addiction and mental health treatment across North Texas. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Umar Latif was also named a finalist for Outstanding Healthcare Practitioner.
The recognition reflects Enterhealth’s approach to treating addiction and mental health conditions by looking beyond symptoms to understand the biological, psychological and social factors affecting each person. Across the Enterhealth Ranch in Van Alstyne and the Enterhealth Center of Excellence in Dallas, treatment brings together addiction medicine, psychiatry, neuroscience, trauma-informed care and family support.
Dr. Latif is triple board-certified in general psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry and addiction medicine. His work embodies Enterhealth’s emphasis on understanding the person beneath the condition and combining each patient’s individual story with clinical science to guide care.
That individualized approach extends across Enterhealth’s treatment model. At the Ranch, a 3-to-1 patient-to-provider ratio lets the clinical team get to know patients and adjust treatment as their needs evolve. Enterhealth tracks patient progress using the Treatment Effectiveness Assessment (TEA), a 40-point assessment of recovery outcomes, with average scores increasing from 17.5 at admission to 35 at discharge. Enterhealth also supports families through weekly therapist-led sessions for loved ones of current and former patients.
In 2026, Enterhealth expanded its trauma treatment resources through a referral partnership with the Neuro Performance and Injury Center, which has referred more than 100 patients to Enterhealth for specialized outpatient trauma care.
D CEO’s 2026 Excellence in Healthcare Awards received more than 200 nominations, with 77 finalists selected. Enterhealth and Dr. Latif will be featured in the December issue and recognized at the awards event on Dec. 10.
