INSPIRING STORIES
Rachel’s Story
Almost 400lbs, in constant chronic pain, and a user of anything she could get her hands on, Rachel had hit rock bottom. After her baby was born, at 6 months she was taken by CPS due to Rachel’s inability to care for her because of her addiction. That’s when she made the decision to come to Enterhealth and start her journey.
She got sober in 2019. But as she shares in this powerful conversation, sobriety didn’t mean she was well. After losing custody of her daughter to CPS, everything changed. Through trauma treatment, brain stabilization, and an integrative approach at Enterhealth, she began to understand the difference between being abstinent and truly healing.
This is a raw story about addiction, motherhood, trauma, and the hard truth that recovery is action — not just sobriety.
Savannah’s Story
On New Year’s Day 2021, a night of drinking ended in a coma—and became the turning point that saved a life. In this powerful recovery story, Savannah shares the raw reality of addiction: waking up alone in an emergency room, losing family and friends, and being overwhelmed by shame and self-hatred.
After hitting a breaking point and confronting thoughts of suicide, a last reach for help led to treatment and a recovery journey that challenged common stigmas around rehab and redefined what real healing can look like. This conversation explores the moment everything changed, what addiction slowly takes away, and why asking for help can feel impossible but can also be lifesaving.
