Mindfulness and Addiction

Lenny Harner, LPC, Enterhealth Ranch Clinical Director

During our webinar, you will learn what Mindfulness is, what it is not, and how it aids in addiction treatment.

  • "Mindfulness is not the seeking of something nor is it the negation of sensations, which include thought and thinking, rather, it is the acceptance of its parts, to achieve its whole." Lenny Harner

Mr. Harner will discuss the integration of Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP) with Traditional Relapse Prevention. A brief look at the origins of mindfulness in the West and it’s amalgamation into addiction treatment will be presented along with examples of the various techniques used in MBRP that demonstrate their efficacy in an addiction treatment program.

PLUS! You can participate in a mindfulness exercise to demonstrate how its applicability and vitality can prevent a lapse, which can help your patients avoid a relapse.

PLEASE NOTE:  Because of technical difficulties, we are unable to provide the audio portion of this recording. You will be reviewing the slides as they were viewed during the actual presentation, so the speed will vary as you watch the video.
