Dr. Stephanie Setliff, Medical Director for Eating Recovery Center of Dallas, and Dr. Harold Urschel, Chief Medical Strategist of Enterhealth, hosted the "Enterhealth and Eating Recovery Center Luncheon" in order to address the high co-occurrence of eating disorders and addiction. Dr. Urschel describes why eating disorders and addiction can appear together, the dangers of both, and how both can be treated.


Dr. Harold Urschel III, addiction psychiatrist, spoke recently at the Communities Foundation of Texas to local healthcare leaders about the current opioid addiction. Opioids are a class of drugs including oxycodone, hydrocodone, and heroin. He said, “As many as one in four people, who receive prescription opioids long-term for non-cancer pain, struggle with addiction.”
