What to Bring During Drug and Alcohol Addiction Treatment

While participating in Enterhealth’s residential addiction treatment program at Enterhealth Ranch, we want clients to be comfortable, and we encourage them to pack a few personal items. 

Bring clothes for approximately 7-14 days. There are laundry rooms available or clients may chose to send clothes out for dry cleaning services. Pack toiletries, extra/special blanket if desired, a small amount of cash or credit cards, special/sentimental items, photos, comfortable clothes, tennis shoes, sweater or jacket depending on season and inside air conditioning temperatures. Other useful items during residential rehabilitation include:

• AA, NA, or other recovery related books or literature
• One dozen plain black pens
• Stationery and stamps
• Journal
• Portable stereo (Walkman-type)/iPod (must have headphones and no video or recording capability)
• Musical instruments
• Family photos 

All bedding, towels, pillows, writing materials, and alarm clocks will be provided for the client.

What Not to Bring During Drug and Alcohol Addiction Treatment

For the safety and confidentiality of Enterhealth clients, please do not bring the following items:

• Tobacco, alcohol or drug products
• Weapons or firearms
• Laptop computers
• Cellular phones
• Reading materials unrelated to recovery
• Valuables (expensive jewelry, large amounts of cash)
• Videos or DVDs rated higher than PG-13
• Playing cards or games
• Cameras or audio/video/recording equipment
• Aerosol spray products – hairspray, deodorant, etc.
• Products containing alcohol in the first five ingredients
• Clothing that depicts alcohol, drugs, sex or violence
• Food or beverages

Telephone Policy

Residential addiction treatment at Enterhealth Ranch includes specified time for open telephone use each morning and evening through generalized access. Enterhealth understands that clients have business issues, legal issues, family issues, etc. outside of addiction treatment and recovery, and the clinical team will work with you on what additional communication issues you may have.
