David M. Kniffen, Jr. – President, Enterhealth
Kniffen leads all facets of the company’s delivery services, including substance abuse treatment centers, counseling, and online recovery services through Enterhealth.com. Kniffen’s experience includes positions as senior vice president of corporate development and general counsel for The Point Group, a Dallas-based marketing communications firm, and attorney with the Dallas law firm of Meadows, Owens, Collier, Reed, Cousins and Blau. He earned an undergraduate degree in marketing from Southern Methodist University and is a graduate of the Southern Methodist University School of Law. Kniffen also holds a Master of Law degree from New York University School of Law. |
Carlos Tirado, MD, MPH – Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Carlos F. Tirado is chief medical officer of The Ranch, an Enterhealth Addiction Treatment Facility, overseeing all client medical care. He is board certified in psychiatry with specialty training in addiction psychiatry at the Center for Studies on Addiction at the University of Pennsylvania and Masters in Public Health awarded from the University of Texas Houston School of Public Health. Dr. Tirado has conducted health disparities research on Hepatitis C treatment in US veterans and adolescent addiction supported by the National Institute on Drug Abuse and the National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. His clinical work has focused on medication assisted treatment of chronic addiction, treatment of chronic pain and co-morbid addiction, treatment of co-occurring psychiatric disorders (dual diagnosis), training addiction professionals and implementation of evidence-based behavioral therapies. Dr. Tirado has published work in the areas of chronic pain, marijuana dependence, opiate dependence, alcohol dependence and cocaine dependence. He also serves as a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. |
Dr. Harold C. Urschel III, MD, MMA – Chief Medical Strategist
Serving as chief medical strategist, Dr. Urschel is responsible for strategic development and oversight of all medical and psychiatric treatments delivered across Enterhealth’s residential substance abuse treatment program and online recovery support services. Dr. Urschel is also the founder and chief executive officer of Dallas-based Urschel Recovery Science Institute and the CNS Research Group, LLP. Dr. Urschel attended Princeton University, graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Neuropsychology. He earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. After completing the first three years of psychiatric residency at UT Southwestern and Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Dr. Urschel moved to Philadelphia to finish his residency and to begin his two-year chemical dependency treatment, clinical research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania/Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Philadelphia, Penn. Dr. Urschel also earned a Master of Management Administration degree from Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Dr. Urschel is currently board certified in addiction and general psychiatry by the American Board of Medical Specialties. |
